Carter, Heyward, Monk and Elko head to ACC kickoff

DURHAM- Redshirt Junior Defensive Tackle By Wayne Carterredshirt main linebacker Shaka Heyward and senior offensive lineman Jacob Monk will join the head coach Mike Elko as Duke representatives in this year’s ACC Football kickoff.

The foursome will be at the Westin Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday. The event brings local, regional and national media together with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, bowl partners and ACC Network staff for the unofficial start of the football season.

On Thursday, student-athletes and coaches from Coastal Division programs will participate in a variety of interview formats. Other highlights include guest speakers and photo ops. Media in attendance will also vote on the All-ACC preseason teams as well as the league’s expected order of finish.

Fans can experience the event through ACC Network or through the Watch ESPN app. Carter and Heyward will appear together on the ACC Network at 10 a.m. Coach Elko will then join the ACC Network team live at 1:15 p.m., while Monk will close out the day with an appearance at 2 p.m.
