Chingari launches its in-app crypto wallet to onboard users into the Solana ecosystem
Chingari on Monday launched its revamped mobile app with the native $GARI token on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The launch of the app follows a successful testnet launch by the Chingari community last month.
According to the team’s statement, the short video maker app will launch an in-app wallet with $GARI as the main ecosystem token.
Chingari aims to revolutionize the content creation scene on its platform with the aim of integrating the app’s millions of daily users with the Solana blockchain. As the main token of the Chingari ecosystem, $GARI will allow users to “tip” their favorite content producers on the Chingari app and “boost” their profile and content.
Users can also deposit and withdraw $GARI from their in-app wallet and trade the token on some of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world.
Chingari CEO and Co-Founder Sumit Ghosh said, “It will be a game-changer in the Chingari app when millions of users experience the GARI integration. Existing and new users will be able to tip other creators, improve their profile, get governance rights and experience many more features on the app. With this, we are also going in the direction of being a project with the highest number of chain users. We are very excited to launch Chingari’s built-in wallet and give users a revamped app with loaded features.
Last week, the $GARI token gained simultaneous listing on a number of leading centralized and decentralized exchanges. Some of the exchanges to list the token include FTX, Kucoin, Huobi, Gate.io, OKEx, and MEXC Global. $GARI trading volumes hit over $100 million less than a day later after the concurrent listing.
$GARI launched in October 2021, the launch party was graced by Bollywood actor and brand ambassador, Salman Khan, introducing the app and token to new audiences and markets.
In December, $GARI launched a testnet version of the revamped Chingari app with the wallet integrated into its community. Over 500 community members participated in testing the app by activating wallets and sending $GARI tokens to each other.
The app aims to support profitable and fast on-chain transactions, thereby launching $GARI as an SPL token on the Solana blockchain. In the next quarter, the $GARI network will deploy an NFT video marketplace on the Chingari app.
The $GARI Network exists to inspire content creators to produce authentic content while keeping viewers engaged. The network aims to create a crypto-powered creator economy on Chingari, India’s mobile social media video-sharing app with over 35 million monthly active users (MAUs).
The launch of the $GARI ecosystem will allow users of the Chingari app to create sub-economies within the platform, ushering in a new Web 3 metaverse in the video creation industry. This will allow content creators to interact with their fans, sell merchandise, and create unique short videos as NFTs. Finally, the economic ecosystem encourages curation on the platform by rewarding the best content creators for their work, or users for watching and sharing the videos.
