ESPN+ and OU Announce Multi-Year “SoonerVision on ESPN+” Agreement

  • The new multi-year rights contract launched in August includes 100+ live events per year

NORMAN – ESPN+ and the University of Oklahoma today announced a multi-year agreement to SoonerVision on ESPN+ which will include over 100 annual live events, studio programming and archival content. ESPN+ will air a regular-season college football game and Oklahoma’s annual spring football game, as well as more than 100 additional competitions in men’s and women’s basketball and college Olympic sports, including programs from NCAA women’s gymnastics and softball from Oklahoma. In addition to live game programming, Earlier Vision on ESPN+ will also include classic content, coaching shows, pro days, pre-game shows and more.

Starting in August, the content will be available on ESPN+ via a SoonerVision landing page, with live events beginning at the start of the fall athletics season. Does this mean all OU games will be on ESPN+?
No. Athletics events that have traditionally appeared on ESPN’s linear channels (ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNEWS) OR FOX’s linear channels (FOX, FS1) will continue to do so, as the network’s selections from television for the first and second level rights remain the same as they have in recent years. ESPN and FOX Sports will make their selections of football, basketball and Olympic sports programs to air on their linear channels, and OU events that are not chosen in the first or second tier selection process will then be available to appear on ESPN+.

Will I be able to watch Oklahoma programming on Bally Sports?
The University of Oklahoma programming will still air on Bally Sports through June 2022.

If I am currently a subscriber, what does this mean for me?
All current subscriptions will remain active with premium content available until June 30, 2022. Current Subscribers don’t need to contact to cancel, as we will take care of it for you.
