Farro opens FINA World Short Course Championships with 100m freestyle event

ABU DHABI, United Arab EmiratesChloe Farro entered the field in the women’s 100m freestyle early Friday morning as the Indiana State rookie competed in the fourth wave of the FINA World Short Course Championships.

Farro lined up in lane three in the fourth of nine rounds at the Etihad Arena. The Sycamore rookie came out quickly for the first 50 meters of the event with her time of 27.35, placing her in the middle of the field over the distance.

She completed the last 50 meters of the event in 30.22 before hitting the wall in 57.57 and placing 49th overall in the field of 85 swimmers.

Farro continues the FINA World Short Course Championships on Monday as the Savaneta, Aruba native takes on the field in the 50-meter freestyle event.
