Men’s hoop heads to Big Ten Media Day
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The Big Ten Men’s Basketball Media Day will take place Tuesday, October 11 and Wednesday, October 12 at the Target Center in Minneapolis. Maryland Men’s Basketball Head Coach Kevin Willard with the eldest Donta Scott and graduated Jahmir young will represent the Terrapins during team availability on Tuesdays.
Media Day coverage will be available on the Big Ten Network and Fox Sports app as well as www.BigTen.org. Media from ESPN, Fox, CBS, BTN and Sirius XM Radio will cover the event in addition to local and national media.
Press conferences with the 28 head coaches (14 women/14 men) will be held on the main court at Target Center from 9 a.m. to approximately 12 p.m. (ET) on Tuesday and from 9:30 a.m. to approximately 12 p.m. (ET) Wednesday.
Head coach Brenda Frese, Diamond Miller and Abby Meyers will travel to Minneapolis to represent the women’s program.
Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren will open Tuesday’s session by speaking to the media from 9 a.m. to approximately 9:30 a.m. ET. Willard’s press conference will begin at approximately 9:40 a.m. All press conferences will be televised live on the Big Ten Network and the FOX Sports app, and also streamed live on the Big Ten basketball Twitter channels (@B1GMBBall and @B1GWBBall).
The trio will be featured on Sirius XM from 11:20 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., then will be a guest in the Big Ten studio from 2:20 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

In total, there will be nearly 20 different media and marketing opportunities for the trio to highlight the upcoming season for the Terps.

The Kevin Willard The era will officially begin Nov. 7 as Maryland hosts Niagara (7 p.m.) at the XFINITY Center in a three-game homestand to open the season.
The non-conference program will also be highlighted by playing the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off at the Mohegan Sun against Saint Louis (Nov. 19, 1 p.m.) and Miami or Providence (Nov. 20, 1/3:30 p.m.), facing Louisville (November 29) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, and against Tennessee (December 11, 4:30 p.m.) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational. Maryland will also host future Big Ten foe UCLA (Dec. 14, 9 p.m.) at the XFINITY Center as part of a home series.
