Samsung Galaxy A73 Rumors, Specs and Features

(Pocket-lint) – Samsung’s lineup of Galaxy A series smartphones is excellent. Typically – especially at the higher end – A-series devices take some of the best features from the Galaxy S range but offer them in a more affordable package.

There have been a number of rumors regarding the A53, as well as the A23, but here we’re focusing on what’s likely to be the top of the line Galaxy A 2022 in the A73.

That’s all we know about the Samsung Galaxy A73 so far.

Release date and price

  • March or April 2022?
  • Around £330?

There’s currently no official release date for the Samsung Galaxy A73, but with Mobile World Congress coming up, it could be that the company is using the Barcelona show to reveal the new A-series devices.

The Samsung Galaxy MWC event will take place on February 27, 2022. The Galaxy A72 launched in March 2021, so a reveal at Mobile World Congress would fit in terms of timing. There has, however, been talk of A73 being delayed a month after A53, suggesting it will be released in April.

As for the price, rumors suggest it will cost around Rs 32,999 which is around £330 or $450. That said, the Galaxy A72 cost over £400 in the UK, so the A73 is more likely to fall into a similar ballpark.

Design

  • 163.8 x 76.0 x 7.6mm
  • Black and gold options

The Samsung Galaxy A73 has leaked in renders, giving us an indication of what it might look like. Based on the leak, we can expect a flat screen with a centralized punch-hole camera at the top, with a quad camera on the back consisting of three large lenses and one smaller lens.

A plastic frame is expected and the camera housing appears to be a single island, rather than wrapping around the frame as the S22 models feature. It is said to measure 163.8 x 76.0 x 7.6mm and it is said to come in black and gold color options.

To display

  • 6.7 inches
  • 2400×1080 resolution
  • 90Hz refresh rate

Samsung Galaxy A73 is rumored to come with a 6.7-inch display, which will undoubtedly be AMOLED. It’s said to have a Full HD+ pixel resolution and as we mentioned earlier, it’s believed to be a flat screen.

The A73 is said to offer a 90Hz refresh rate, which is a slight step back from the 120Hz adaptive refresh rate offered on the Galaxy S22 series.

Hardware and Specifications

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 128 GB of storage
  • 5000mAh

The Samsung Galaxy A73 is said to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset, supported by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It’s currently unknown if microSD for storage expansion will be offered, but since it’s not part of the S22 range, it’s certainly possible that this handset won’t offer it either.

In terms of battery capacity, the Samsung Galaxy A73 will apparently come with a 5000mAh battery capacity and will support 33W fast charging. is unclear at the moment.

Cameras

  • Quad rear camera
  • 108MP main sensor

Not much has been said about the cameras expected for the Samsung Galaxy A73, although a quad rear setup is expected and the main camera sensor is 108 megapixels.
