The top May 2022 security stories include a good mix of topics ranging from acquisitions and profiles, to smart home and emerging technologies.

As always, several acquisitions were made – and they were all made by companies that have been on a wave of acquisitions over the past few years.

ADT Commercial has acquired Denver integrator Key-Rite Security to expand its service coverage and offerings across the state of Colorado. ADT has made numerous business acquisitions since launching its new business brand at ISC West in 2019. Notable additions include Red Hawk Fire & Security and Aronson Security Group.

Motorola is another company that has bought brands to create its new Video Security & Access Control division. This month, the company purchased Videotec, a global provider of hardened video security solutions. Purchase matches the following latest offers for Avigilon, IndigoVision, Pelco, Envysion, Openpath, and Ava Security.

Allied Universal continued its North American acquisition strategy by acquiring Hawaii-based Star Protection Agency. It looks like Allied is good for nearly one acquisition a month between its guarding services and its integration business, which it’s been bolstering since acquiring Dallas-based integrator Securadyne Systems in 2019.
